The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates who were unable to sit the main examination despite completing the required registration and biometric verification processes.
JAMB announced the date in a statement by its Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, explaining that the exercise is intended to accommodate candidates affected by technical challenges, biometric verification failures and other disruptions encountered during the 2026 UTME.
According to the examination body, the mop-up exercise will also include candidates whose results were withdrawn following examination infractions and those who presented themselves for the examination but could not be successfully verified through the biometric system.
JAMB described the exercise as the final phase of the 2026 UTME process, aimed at resolving all outstanding issues involving eligible candidates who were unable to complete the examination through no fault of their own.
The board directed affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from June 6, 2026, to enable them confirm their examination centres, schedules and other relevant details ahead of the exercise.
Candidates were also advised to familiarise themselves with their designated centres and make adequate logistical arrangements before the examination date to avoid last-minute difficulties.
JAMB stressed that the mop-up examination represents the last opportunity for affected candidates to participate in the 2026 UTME, warning that no additional examination window would be provided after the exercise.
The announcement is expected to bring relief to many candidates who were unable to complete the examination due to technical glitches at some Computer-Based Test centres and other operational challenges recorded during the main examination period.
The board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a transparent, credible and inclusive admission process while addressing all legitimate complaints arising from the 2026 UTME exercise.
