The Evwreni Clan Improvement Union (ECIU), Okpahwa Community Branch in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has elected a new set of executives to pilot the affairs of the union.
The executives emerged unopposed during an election held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Evwreni town.
The election was officiated by the Secretary of Okpahwa Community, Mr. John Aki, who commended members of the union for the peaceful and united atmosphere that characterised the exercise.
The newly elected executives are Johnson Avwruefe as President, Solomon Odeimor as Vice President, Femi Odjibi as Secretary, Aghogho Sunday as Assistant Secretary, Pastor Omoha Jonathan as Treasurer, Alagba Dennis as Public Relations Officer, Oyovwaire Joshua as Social Secretary, Chief Eric Osharode as Financial Secretary, Gideon Onojeta as Auditor I, and Sunday Utuedor as Auditor II.
Speaking shortly after the election, the newly elected President, Mr. Johnson Avwruefe, expressed gratitude to members of the union for the confidence reposed in him and his executive team.
Avwruefe described their emergence as a call to service and pledged that the new leadership would work tirelessly to sustain the vision and objectives of the Evwreni Clan Improvement Union, Okpahwa Community Branch.
“We are deeply honoured by the trust and support shown to us by members of this union. This responsibility is not one we take lightly, and we are committed to working together in unity, peace, and progress for the benefit of our community,” he said.
He assured members that the new executive would focus on strengthening the union, promoting harmony among members, and supporting developmental initiatives capable of advancing the welfare and interests of the Okpahwa community.
According to him, the administration would also prioritise active engagement with youths and elders to ensure inclusiveness and continuity in community development efforts.
Avwruefe further called on all members of the union to remain supportive and united, stressing that collective effort would be necessary to move the organisation forward and preserve the values of the Evwreni people.
The election ended peacefully with members congratulating the newly elected executives and expressing optimism over the future of the union under the new leadership.
