A long-running disagreement between Nigerian music stars Wande Coal and Davido has erupted again, with the two Afrobeats heavyweights trading sharp words online over an unreleased collaboration.
The latest dispute centres on “Come My Way,” Wande Coal’s 2021 song which had generated considerable anticipation after a version featuring a Davido verse surfaced.
The collaboration was never officially released, and the issue resurfaced after Davido recently explained why he did not proceed with the remix.
According to Davido’s account, he recorded his contribution after Wande Coal approached him but objected to appearing only on a remix after the original version had already been released.
Wande Coal subsequently challenged that explanation, insisting that the song already had an established release plan and questioning Davido’s position on the track.
The disagreement then moved from the music business to social media, where the two singers exchanged personal jabs.
Davido responded to Wande Coal with the phrase “No vex Mr Little”, after which Wande Coal fired back with his own mocking response.
The exchange quickly attracted widespread attention from fans, turning a disagreement over an unreleased song into one of the latest talking points in Nigeria’s entertainment space.
The controversy is particularly striking because the song itself was released several years ago and had already achieved success without Davido’s contribution.
The renewed clash has therefore left fans debating whether the disagreement is genuinely about music rights and release arrangements or whether unresolved personal tensions have now taken over.
The episode also highlights the complicated relationships that can arise when major artistes collaborate on recordings that are never eventually released.
For now, there is no indication that the long-awaited Davido-assisted version of “Come My Way” will be officially released.
