The Engr. Dr. Samuel Adjogbe Foundation has completed the selection process for the third edition of its scholarship programme for deserving students of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, from the Delta Central Senatorial District.
The scholarship initiative is designed to promote academic excellence and ease the financial burden of higher education for students who demonstrate strong academic potential and merit.
The latest edition attracted applications from students across several disciplines, including Medicine and Surgery, Law, Linguistics/Urhobo, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, Science Laboratory Technology and other fields of study.
Following a thorough verification and assessment process, the Foundation’s Selection Committee contacted the successful applicants.
Among those selected are Akpore Oghenetega Duke, a 400-level Medicine and Surgery student from Ethiope East Local Government Area; Ajiboye Olorutobilola Salome, a 200-level Law student from Ethiope East; and Aluya Kesiena Joseph, a 200-level Linguistics/Urhobo student from Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The scholarship cheques are expected to be presented to the successful beneficiaries soon.
Speaking on the initiative, Chairman of the Foundation, Engr. Dr. Samuel Adjogbe, said the scholarship programme reflected the Foundation’s commitment to investing in young people and supporting students with the potential to contribute meaningfully to society.
Adjogbe said the Foundation remained focused on using education as a vehicle for personal advancement and broader community development, while also encouraging the preservation and promotion of the Urhobo language.
He congratulated the successful students, urging them to make the most of the opportunity and remain committed to academic excellence.
He also commended members of the Selection Committee for their diligence and professionalism throughout the verification and selection exercise.
The Foundation said the scholarship programme would continue to support deserving students and contribute to the development of human capital within Delta Central.
