The former Executive Director of Projects, EDP, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Engr (Dr) Samuel Adjogbe, FNSE, at the weekend bagged a Special Recognition Award from the Udu Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, to add another feather to his cap.
Adjogbe was honoured with the special award for his constant corporate support and partnership with the Udu branch of the NBA.
The ceremony which took place at the Wetland Hotel, Ekete Inland, Udu in Delta State was graced by an array of judges and lawyers within and outside of the Udu jurisdiction including Barr (Alhaji) Mumakai Unagha, Barr B M Jamaha and Barr Uzezi Akugha.
Presenting the award to Adjogbe, the Chairman of the Udu branch of the NBA, Barr Kingsley Asagba, described the former Executive Director, Projects of the NDDC, as a friend of the branch who has contributed to the upliftment of the branch.
According to him, the Udu branch of the NBA considered him worthy of the award considering his numerous support to the branch.
Receiving the award, Adjogbe who was represented by Barr Lucky Esakido commended the Udu branch of the Association for the recognition adding that the honour would spur him to do more for humanity.
He particularly promised to continue to provide support within his capacity to uplift the Udu branch of the Bar Association.
Earlier in his address, the Chief Judge of Delta State, Honourable Justice Theresa Diai, represented by Honourable Justice Briki Okolosi, congratulated the Udu branch of the Association for the wonderful and colourful ceremony.
The Chief Judge called for a better synergy between the Bar and the Bench for a better Administration of Justice in the State.
She also admonished lawyers to sustain the ethics of the noble profession.
Other personalities honoured include Barr and Mrs R. A. Ekpedi, Ms Omoerere Erhuen, who came out with first class in the recent Nigerian Bar Examination and Barr Omo Erhabor.
