The political road to the 2027 general elections has received another boost in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, as Olorogun Samuel Adjogbe, PhD, FNSE, reaffirmed his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared support for all the party’s candidates.
Adjogbe made the declaration during a courtesy visit by Hon. Matthew Onojighofia Omonade, Esq., incumbent member representing Ughelli North Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly and APC candidate for the constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The visit, which took place at Adjogbe’s country home in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, provided an opportunity for both political leaders to deliberate on the affairs of the party and the way forward ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Welcoming Omonade, Adjogbe, a former Executive Director of Projects and respected APC chieftain, commended the lawmaker for the initiative and stressed the importance of unity and consultation in strengthening the party.
“I am pleased to receive Hon. Matthew Onojighofia Omonade at my country home in Evwreni. His visit is a demonstration of the importance of unity, consultation and collective commitment to the growth of our great party, the All Progressives Congress,” Adjogbe said.
The APC chieftain further expressed confidence in Omonade’s representation of Ughelli North Constituency I, describing his political engagement as consistent with the broader objectives of the party.
According to him, the success of the APC in 2027 would depend largely on the ability of its members and leaders to work together and place the collective interest of the party above personal differences.
“My position remains clear: I am committed to the unity, strength and success of the APC, and I will continue to support all our candidates across Ughelli North and Delta State,” he stated.
Adjogbe also called for renewed commitment to grassroots engagement, urging party members to take the message of the Renewed Hope for More Agenda to the people.
He said the forthcoming elections should be approached with discipline, unity of purpose and sustained mobilisation across wards and communities.
“The 2027 elections present an opportunity for us to consolidate our political gains and advance the Renewed Hope for More Agenda. This requires unity of purpose, discipline and sustained engagement with our people at the grassroots,” Adjogbe added.
Earlier, Omonade expressed gratitude to the APC chieftain for the warm reception, hospitality and encouraging words during the visit.
The lawmaker said the meeting provided an avenue for fruitful and engaging deliberations on issues concerning the APC and the collective responsibility of its members in building a stronger political structure ahead of 2027.
Omonade, who described Adjogbe as a respected leader and committed party chieftain, said he was particularly encouraged by the former Executive Director’s commitment to the APC and his declaration of support for all candidates of the party.
“I was particularly encouraged by his commitment to our great party and his expression of total support for all APC candidates. His words of encouragement and counsel further reinforced my resolve to continue working for the unity, strength and victory of the party,” Omonade said.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to working with other party leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the APC’s presence across Ughelli North Constituency I and beyond.
He also expressed optimism that sustained cooperation among party members would position the APC for a successful outing in the 2027 general elections.
“Together, we will continue to work for the unity, strength and victory of our great party,” Omonade declared.
The meeting ended on a note of renewed political understanding and shared commitment, with both leaders emphasising the need for unity, grassroots mobilisation and collective responsibility as the APC prepares for the 2027 electoral contest.
