Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Warri South Constituency 1 have expressed support for the re-election bid of the member representing the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Augustine Uroye, following a consultation meeting ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held on Sunday at the Warri South Council Lodge, drew key party stakeholders and leaders, including Hon. Omimi Esquire, Prince Yemi Emiko, Hon. Toju Abigor, Mrs. Gbubemi Ikolo, Austin Oribioye, Chief Esther Okotie Eboh, Mrs. Abrakata, Amb. Dr. Hope George, Mr. Emma Amiwero, Mr. Emma Nunu, Hon. Kenneth Edon, and Chief Glory Ayiwe, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Uroye described the visit as a return to his political “home,” stressing the importance of consultation and respect in seeking continued representation.
He noted that he has spent over three years in the current Eighth Assembly and about seven years in total representing the constituency, maintaining that he has delivered to the best of his ability.
“As we approach another election cycle, I cannot do it alone. I must first seek the blessings and permission of this family before going forward to represent them again,” he said.
The lawmaker also argued that continuity would enable him to consolidate ongoing efforts and deepen development across the constituency.
In their responses, party leaders commended his performance and engaged him in discussions, offering advice while expressing confidence in his leadership.
They also offered prayers and signalled support for his return to the Assembly, citing his experience and grassroots connection.
The consultation is seen as an early move in the build-up to the 2027 elections, with observers noting that the show of support could strengthen Uroye’s standing within the APC in Warri South Constituency 1.
