Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has congratulated a new generation of Urhobo medical graduates following their induction as medical doctors at the University of Abuja, describing the achievement as a proud moment for the Urhobo nation, Delta State and Nigeria.
The induction ceremony, held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, formally admitted the graduates into the medical profession after years of rigorous academic and clinical training.
In a congratulatory message delivered on his behalf by Mrs. Oghor Okolo, Senator Dafinone said the induction marked not only the fulfilment of a personal dream for the young doctors but also a significant contribution to the development of Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
“It is inspiring to witness these outstanding young men attain this remarkable milestone and answer the noble call to serve humanity through medicine. Their success is a source of pride to the Urhobo nation and Delta Central,” he said.
The senator noted that the newly inducted doctors had participated in his youth-focused Meet-and-Greet engagements in November 2024 and 2025, adding that their accomplishments demonstrate what is possible when young people are encouraged, mentored and provided with opportunities to realise their potential.
He congratulated Dr. John Oloche, Dr. Jerome Ekoh, Dr. John Agulefo and Dr. Thompson Onojuvwevwo, commending their resilience, discipline and commitment throughout the demanding journey of medical education.
Senator Dafinone also extended his congratulations to Dr. Ejiro Mitaire-Idonor, who was inducted in November 2025, encouraging the young physician to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and compassionate care.
He praised the parents, guardians, families, mentors and loved ones of the newly inducted doctors for the sacrifices, encouragement and unwavering support that helped them attain the milestone.
According to the lawmaker, investing in education and human capital remains one of the most effective ways to build a prosperous society, noting that young professionals have a vital role to play in addressing Nigeria’s healthcare challenges.
Reaffirming his commitment to youth development, Senator Dafinone pledged to continue supporting initiatives that inspire academic excellence, leadership and professional growth among young people across Delta Central.
