Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Obukowho Nani, has congratulated the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the commission, Chief Festus Ochonogor, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a dependable administrator whose commitment has continued to strengthen the commission’s development mandate in the oil-producing communities of Delta State.

In a goodwill message on Tuesday, Nani said Ochonogor’s dedication, professionalism and passion for public service have contributed significantly to the progress recorded by DESOPADEC under the current board.

He noted that the cordial working relationship between the Board and Management has created the enabling environment for the commission to execute people-oriented projects and programmes across the mandate areas, in line with the vision of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.

Nani also expressed appreciation to Governor Oborevwori for the confidence reposed in the current leadership of the commission through the one-year extension of the tenure of the Board, saying the decision would further consolidate ongoing developmental initiatives in the state’s oil-bearing communities.

According to him, the renewed confidence placed in the leadership of DESOPADEC serves as motivation to remain focused on delivering impactful projects that improve the quality of life of the people.

He stressed that the achievements recorded by the commission have been made possible through collaboration, mutual respect and a shared commitment between the Board and the Management, adding that teamwork remains the foundation of sustainable development.

We celebrate a distinguished administrator, a committed public servant and a dependable partner whose dedication continues to strengthen our collective mission of transforming the oil-producing communities of Delta State,” Nani stated.

Nani added: “Chief Ochonogor has demonstrated exceptional dedication, diligence and administrative capacity. Our synergy, built on mutual respect and a common vision, has strengthened the commission’s ability to deliver meaningful development to our people.”

The DESOPADEC Chairman further stated: “The extension of the tenure of this Board by His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is both an honour and a challenge for us to do even more.
