Olorogun John Nani, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has joined well-wishers across Delta State and beyond to honour Dame Edith Okowa on the occasion of her 65th birthday.
Nani described her life as one defined by uncommon compassion, quiet strength, and an unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.
In his goodwill message, Nani said the former Delta First Lady has, over the years, distinguished herself through consistent acts of kindness and impactful community service, noting that her legacy extends far beyond public office influence.
He added that her contributions to healthcare support, women’s empowerment, and care for vulnerable groups remain deeply etched in the social development history of Delta State.
According to him, “Dame Edith Okowa represents the very best of humane leadership. She has used her platform not for personal gain, but for the upliftment of the less privileged, and that is a legacy worthy of celebration.”
He further noted that her 05 Initiative Foundation became a lifeline for many families, particularly through interventions in healthcare delivery and support for persons living with sickle cell disorder.
“Her consistency in touching lives, especially the vulnerable, is what sets her apart. She has built hope where despair once existed,” Nani stated.
Olorogun Nani also prayed for continued strength and good health for the celebrant, adding that her life remains a model for public service spouses and women in leadership support roles.
“On behalf of the Governing Board of DESOPADEC, I congratulate Dame Edith Okowa at 65. May God continue to bless her with wisdom, peace, and many more years of impactful service to humanity,” he said.
