In what looks like an unwarranted attack on the person of the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ned Nwoko and the current champion for the creation of Anioma state, it has become necessary to question why he is again being attacked by the hawks of some political players and key state actors over his concern on the AGIP power station at Okpai in Ndokwa Land of the state.

Senator Nwoko is selfless in his quest for a better Anioma. His interrogations of state process are in line with his duties as a senator.

Sen. Nwoko opined that Delta state can fund the 35 billion Naira step down project at Okpai, either through a private sector driven initiative or an outright payment by the state government. This is a statement of fact as the funding from FAAC makes it an irrefutable presumption. Delta has gotten about 40 billion naira monthly on the average within the last one year. This is verifiable.

Let it also be recorded that the state government has received several billions of naira with a ministry of power in the state, trailing failures, with no positive records to show for such allocations. The failure of the Independent power plant at Oghara and other such initiatives in the state are pointers to the collaborative efforts to deny the people of Delta State from regular supply of electricity in the state.
If the state Govt is servicing the debts accrued by previous administrations as being touted by very critical elements in the state, then the welfare of the people us not being prioritized.

It may sound strange, but why has nobody been prosecuted for the darkness in the state ? Why is Senator Nwoko being attacked for saying the truth against those who are bent on conniving to throw Ndokwa people and other people into perpetual darkness when they have the natural resources to keep the area aglow, even in the darkest hours ?

Something is definitely wrong in the attack on Senator Nwoko over this issue as said by Chief Rich Kay from Abbi, but come what may, Senator Nwoko will laugh last over this issue, as the entire progressives in Delta and Anioma people, including the dispora are with him in demanding good governance.

Deltans will continue to ask more critical questions that demand answers.
