Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, bloggers and social media users to give Nollywood actress Regina Daniels privacy and support as she continues to recover from health challenges, warning against the circulation of fabricated reports about her.
In a statement shared on his social media page, Nwoko said Daniels had endured significant difficulties and deserved compassion rather than public scrutiny.
“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better,” he said.
The lawmaker, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, said Daniels’ birthday video had offered the public a glimpse of the health challenges she had been experiencing. He urged people not to judge or vilify her, but to allow her the space and support needed for recovery.
Daniels, who turned 25 on October 10, 2026, shared a video in which she appeared in a wheelchair and described months of pain and difficulty moving freely.
She said her condition had worsened after a Children’s Day carnival she hosted and that she had undergone repeated medical tests. She did not disclose a specific diagnosis.
Nwoko said her well-being remained important to him despite difficulties in their relationship, adding that concern for her health had contributed to their private circumstances becoming public.
He also expressed concern over what he described as false and distressing online publications, including fabricated announcements of Daniels’ death and misleading reports about her health and personal life.
“These things are not harmless social media engagement,” he said, adding that Daniels sees many of the posts and finds them deeply distressing.
The senator called on fans who genuinely care about the actress to discourage the spread of such content rather than amplify it.
Nwoko warned that he would pursue legal action against those deliberately spreading false information about Daniels.
“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels,” he said.
He urged the public to respect Daniels’ privacy and allow her to focus on her recovery without being subjected to repeated fabricated stories.
The appeal comes amid sustained public attention surrounding the couple’s relationship and Daniels’ health.
However, her birthday video provided no medical diagnosis, and claims about her condition beyond her own account remain unverified.
