The Agbarha Ward Leaders and Elders Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unanimously ratified Comrade Lucky Ofomukoro as the consensus candidate for the chairmanship of the party in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The decision was reached at a well-attended consultative meeting held in Agbarha, Ughelli North, bringing together key party leaders, elders and elected representatives of the ward.

The meeting reaffirmed earlier agreements within the party structure, signalling a unified position ahead of forthcoming APC congresses and internal party exercises.

Presiding over the session, Chairman of the Council, Prof. S. W. E. Ibodje, expressed appreciation to the Ughelli North APC leadership for zoning the LGA chairmanship position to Agbarha Ward, describing the move as a recognition of the ward’s loyalty and contributions to the growth of the party in the local government area.

The formal adoption of Comrade Ofomukoro followed a motion moved by Hon. Collins Arhiakpore, Councillor representing Agbarha Ward 2, and seconded by Hon. December Orido, Councillor representing Agbarha Ward 1.

The motion was subsequently put to a voice vote by the Political Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Hon. Barr. Charles Oniyere, and received unanimous approval from all leaders and elders present.

Party stakeholders at the meeting described the consensus as a demonstration of unity, discipline and collective resolve within Agbarha Ward, noting that the decision positions the ward to play a stronger role in APC affairs at the local government level.

The outcome of the meeting was formally communicated in a statement signed by Onos Emonena, Publicity Secretary of the APC Agbarha Ward Leaders and Elders Council.
