Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ward 3, Okuokoko, in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, have paid a condolence visit to Comrade John Edes Agusa, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, following the death of his mother, Anunu Agusa.
The delegation visited Agusa at his Okuokoko residence on Monday, November 2, to offer support and commiserate with him and his family over the loss.
Anunu Agusa, née Eyenuku, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the age of 94. She hailed from Ohrerhe, Agbarho, in Ughelli North Local Government Area and was survived by five children, 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
The delegation was led by the Director-General of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Board, Okakuro Daniel Ivwringhen, and included the APC Ward 3 Chairman, Hon. Onojighofia, Okakuro Bernard Jagboro, Hon. Maria Ememo, Comrade Philip Eyarunu, Comrade Mudiaga David and Grace Okperigho, among others.
Speaking during the visit, Ivwringhen expressed the delegation’s sympathy to Agusa and his family, describing the loss of a mother as a deeply painful experience.
“We came to stand with our brother and colleague in this difficult moment. A mother’s love and guidance remain with her children long after her passing, and we pray that God grants the family the strength to bear this loss,” Ivwringhen said.
He urged the bereaved family to draw comfort from the long life their mother lived and the legacy she left behind through her children and grandchildren.
Responding, Agusa thanked the delegation for their visit and support, saying their presence had brought comfort to him and his family during a difficult period.
“I am deeply grateful to the leaders and members of our party for remembering my family at this time of grief. Your prayers, compassion and solidarity mean a great deal to us,” Agusa said.
He also appreciated the delegation for taking time out of their schedules to visit and offer condolences.
The visit ended with prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for strength for the bereaved family.
