Two political pressure groups supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), the APC Unity Forum and Tinubu Progressive Advocate, have inaugurated their local government coordinators and other officials in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, with a call for increased grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, held in Effurun, was part of efforts by the groups to strengthen their organisational structures, encourage voter registration and expand support for the party across the state.
The State Coordinator of the two groups, Comrade Morrison Aliba, urged members to intensify mobilisation efforts by reaching out to eligible voters and persuading them to support the APC.
Aliba cautioned members against selective support for candidates, describing such conduct as contrary to party loyalty.
He expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the 2027 elections and assured members that their contributions would not be forgotten if the APC emerged victorious.
According to him, the groups’ success would depend on the commitment of members to building a united and effective mobilisation structure at the grassroots.
Also speaking, the State Women Coordinator of the APC Unity Forum and Tinubu Progressive Advocate, Hon. Mrs Gracious Usele Agbajo, urged members to work collectively towards the party’s electoral success.
Agbajo encouraged financially capable members to contribute resources to the mobilisation effort, assuring participants that their contributions and commitment would be recognised.
She stressed the importance of collective responsibility, noting that sustained grassroots engagement would be crucial to the groups’ efforts ahead of the elections.
The Vice Chairman of the APC in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Mercy Lance, commended the groups for supporting the party and urged them to strengthen their coordination.
Lance also advised the pressure groups to ensure that they were properly documented among the organisations working to advance the APC’s interests.
A major highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of local government coordinators, deputy coordinators, assistants, treasurers, financial secretaries and advisers.
The newly inaugurated officials are expected to coordinate the groups’ activities and strengthen their presence across local government areas.
The meeting ended with a call for greater unity, commitment and grassroots participation as the APC Unity Forum and Tinubu Progressive Advocate prepare to intensify their activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
