Accept defeat and work with Delta Governor-Elect; Uviejitobor urges Omo-Agege, other guber candidates

The member representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Peter Uviejitobor has felicitated with the State Governor-elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, and the Deputy Governor-elect, Sir Monday Onyeme for the victory last Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.

Hon Uviejitobor in a statement on behalf of family and constituents also felicitated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP family for the landslide victory of the candidate of the party in the 2023 governorship race in the state.

The lawmaker stated that the PDP candidate winning 21 out of the 25 local government areas in the state and leaving behind his closet rival with over 120,000 votes margin was colossal and commended Deltans for voting massively for Sheriff Oborevwori who is the Speaker of the State Assembly.

Saying that Deltans have again proven the dominance of PDP in the state, Hon Uviejitobor emphasized that at no time would lies, bitterness, propaganda and evil machinations triumph over the will of God.

The Udu lawmaker who is the Chairman of, the Assembly Committee on Water Resources Development, maintained that Deltans had made the right choice for the state and commended the people for believing in PDP.

Uviejitobor expressed optimism that the Governor-elect, would sustain the enviable legacies of the outgoing administration in the state, and prayed to God to grant him and his deputy the wherewithal to pilot the affairs of the state to enviable heights.

“I thank God for granting the prayers of Deltans. The people have chosen the Right Honorable Speaker of the Delta Assembly to lead them in the next four years. I must congratulate my dear colleague, friend and Governor-elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Deputy, Sir Monday John Onyeme on the well-deserved victory.

“2023 Delta State Governorship election has been concluded and the winner has emerged. I pray God blesses the winner with good health and wisdom for the task ahead. I commend Deltans for standing solidly with the PDP,” Uviejitobor stated.

The Udu lawmaker urged candidates of the other seventeen political parties that contested the governorship election to accept the outcome and work with Oborevwori towards moving the state to the next level of development.

“I want to enjoin the candidates of all political parties that contested the gubernatorial election in Delta State to embrace the outcome of the election. In every contest, there must be a winner. Sheriff has emerged. I am aware that some of the Governorship candidates have already congratulated him. That is the spirit and I expect all others to follow the same path as it leads to more stability in the polity and peace in the state,” Uviejitobor emphasized.

The lawmaker assured that together with other critical stakeholders, PDP in Udu will regain all lost glory in the local government area.
