Schools in Delta resume for 3rd term Tuesday

Delta State Government has announced Tuesday, April 25, 2023, as the resumption date for public and private primary and secondary schools in the state.

The resumption is for the 3rd term 2022/2023 academic session.

A statement from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Augustine Oghoro on behalf of the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu and the Commissioner for Primary Education, Chief Sunday Onoriode, says boarders are to resume on Monday, April 24, 2023.

The statement noted that teaching and learning activities would commence on Tuesday, April 25, while the resumption test would be conducted on April 27, 2023, in all the various schools across the state.

It advised school heads and teachers to ensure that they complied with the directive, adding that the Honourable Commissioners in the Ministry and the Permanent Secretary would lead officials of the Ministry to monitor the level of compliance.

The statement further enjoined Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) in the 25 Local Government Areas to participate actively in monitoring the resumption of schools and teachers’ commitment to their official duties in their various Local Government Areas.

Mr Oghoro, in the statement, admonished parents to ensure that their children and wards were prepared for school resumption.
