The learning environment at Izeze Primary School, Agadama, in Uhweru Kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has received a boost following the donation of 20 wooden classroom desks by the Rotary Club of Evwreni.
The club presented the desks to the school on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as part of its education-focused intervention to provide pupils with a more conducive learning environment.
Presenting the desks on behalf of the Rotary Club of Evwreni, the club’s President, Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe, PhD, said the initiative was driven by the Rotary Club’s commitment to supporting education and improving the learning conditions of children.
Adjogbe said the intervention, tagged “Dust to Desk,” was designed to address the challenges faced by pupils who lacked appropriate desks in their classrooms.
According to him, “Education is key, and every child should have the opportunity to learn with dignity.”
He explained that providing the desks was not merely about furniture but about creating an environment where pupils could concentrate better and pursue their education with greater comfort.
The Rotary president urged the pupils and teachers to take proper care of the desks to ensure that they remain useful and durable for a long time.
Receiving the donation, the Headmistress of Izeze Primary School, Mrs Ovieba Beauty, expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club of Evwreni for what she described as a kind and timely gesture.
Mrs Beauty thanked the club on behalf of the school’s management, teachers and pupils, noting the positive impact the provision of the desks would have on the school community.
She expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for identifying with the needs of the pupils and supporting the school with the learning facilities.
Also speaking, Comrade Solomon Oghenetega, Senior Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Development and an indigene of Agadama, commended the Rotary Club of Evwreni for the initiative.
Oghenetega appreciated the club for extending its humanitarian intervention to Izeze Primary School, describing the gesture as a meaningful contribution to the educational development of children in the community.
The presentation was attended by members of the Rotary Club of Evwreni, including the club’s Vice President, Rtn. Glory Amos-Okwo, PhD; Club Administrator, Rtn. Famous Amrophe; and Rtn. Genial, Osieta.
The initiative, which was captured by the club’s message of “From floor to desk, every child deserves to learn with dignity,” underscores the importance of basic classroom facilities in supporting effective learning.
