Some residents of Orsumuoghu in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State have said that they have deserted their homes for fear of being killed by military personnel in the area.
A source in Orsumuoghu told NewsNet Nigeria that there was a three-hour shooting in the village while military personnel deployed to the area moved from home to home alleging that a number of persons have died.
When asked if the development was connected to the just concluded Anambra State gubernatorial election, the source said that the election has come and gone attributing it to activities of the Eastern Security Network.
Another source who pleaded anonymity wondered why the state Governor and the Ihiala Local Government Council Chairman were yet to intervene to find a lasting solution to the ugly incident.
They alleged that houses were razed, people were killed leading to the area being deserted.
