Foremost Urhobo socio-political group, Urhobo Peoples Integrity Organisation (UPIO) has celebrated the Appeal Court victory of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, which restored him as the authentic and lawful governorship of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State for the 2023 general elections.

The pro-PDP group in a statement signed by Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu and Olorogun Jerry Eruvbedede in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, noted that the Appeal Court ruling was a verdict for justice.

The group also noted that the verdict was in the overall interest of members of the party who voted overwhelmingly for Oborevwori, who is the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly as the PDP candidate in the 2023 governorship election.

“The joy of members of our great party over the Appeal Court verdict is a testimony to the fact that Rt Hon (Chief) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori is the true choice of members,” the statement added.

The group in the statement appealed to Olorogun David Edevbie and his supporters to sheath their swords and join hands with PDP Delta State in ensuring that Rt Hon Oborevwori wins the governorship contest in 2023.
