Buhari sends 7 names to Senate to replace ex-ministers

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent names of 7 persons to the Nigerian Senate as replacements for ministers who resigned from his cabinet.

The ex-ministers resigned to contest the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the 2023 general elections.

Buhari’s letter for their replacement was read by the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, during Tuesday’s plenary.

The letter read: “In accordance with Section 8 Subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I hereby forward the underlisted ministerial nominees for your confirmation.”

The 7 ministerial nominees are:

Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh – Abia State

Umana Okon Umana – Akwa Ibom State

Egwumakama Joseph Nkama – Ebonyi State
