Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has announced the commencement of a Free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration drive for 1,500 students ahead of the 2026 academic year.

The initiative, aimed at promoting access to higher education and strengthening human capital development, is targeted at students from the nine local government areas in Delta North. These include Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, and Ukwuani.

In a statement released on Monday, Senator Nwoko described education as the bedrock of sustainable development, stressing that no qualified student should be denied the opportunity to pursue tertiary education due to financial challenges.

“Education is the foundation upon which lasting development is built. This initiative is part of my commitment to supporting young people and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities,” he said.

According to the senator, beneficiaries must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, and are required to generate their JAMB Profile Code using their National Identification Number (NIN). Applicants are also expected to provide their full name, profile code, and council ward for proper documentation and verification.

The registration process is open until Sunday, February 15, 2026, and interested candidates are to apply through the designated online portal.

Senator Nwoko reaffirmed his commitment to advancing policies and programmes that empower youths and enhance the social and economic future of Delta North.

He noted that investing in education remains a critical strategy for building a resilient and prosperous society.

“This programme reflects our resolve to invest in the next generation and strengthen the future of our communities,” he added.

The free registration drive is expected to ease the financial burden on families and encourage more young people in the district to pursue higher education.
