Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, PhD, has expressed appreciation to delegates, party faithful, supporters, and residents of Warri Federal Constituency following his victory in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election.
Mulade emerged as the party’s candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency seat after a keenly contested primary election held on Friday in Delta State.
In a statement personally signed by him and made available to journalists, the environmental rights activist and peace advocate described his emergence as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by delegates and stakeholders across the constituency.
He said the victory was not a personal achievement but a collective mandate driven by the desire for quality representation, inclusive leadership, and sustainable development across the constituency.
Mulade thanked delegates and supporters for standing by him throughout the primary process, assuring them that he would remain committed to advancing the interests of the people through responsive and people-centred representation if elected in the general election.
According to him, the outcome of the primary election underscores the growing demand for grassroots-oriented leadership capable of addressing the developmental challenges facing communities within the constituency.
The NDC candidate also called for stronger unity among the three major ethnic nationalities in the constituency—the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo—emphasising that lasting progress can only be achieved through cooperation, mutual respect, and inclusiveness.
He emphasised that every community deserves a voice in governance and pledged to advocate for policies that promote peace, development, and equal opportunities for all residents.
“I deeply appreciate everyone who participated in this journey, especially the delegates, supporters, and well-wishers who placed their confidence in me. This victory belongs to all who believe in good governance, unity, and sustainable development,” he said.
Mulade dedicated the victory to God and the people of Warri Federal Constituency, describing the mandate as a call to greater responsibility and service.
He further urged party members and supporters to remain united as the NDC prepares for the next stage of the electoral process, noting that collective commitment and solidarity would be critical to securing victory at the polls.
“Our task now is to build on this momentum and work together for a brighter future for Warri Federal Constituency. With unity, dedication, and a shared vision, we can achieve meaningful progress for our people,” he added.
