The monarchs explained that indiscriminate bush burning had not only caused the devastation of the Ecosystem but also destroyed economic trees and food crops and in some cases razed residential buildings.

In a 5-point Communique issued at the meeting, the Monarchs urged the State government to, as a matter of urgency, carry out an aggressive enlightenment campaign to sensitize  Deltans on the dangers inherent in bush burning.

They also harped on the need for Deltans to embrace and accept the routine immunization Programme for children saying immunization was designed to boost the health of the target group.

The royal fathers appreciated the development efforts of the present administration and congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his Supreme Court legal victory.

The monarchs enjoined the Governor to remain focused on the execution of projects that would impart Deltans.

The Council also congratulated the Ebenanaowei of Tuomo Kingdom, Rtd. Hon., Justice F. F. Tabai on his 5th coronation anniversary and wished him well.

The Council-In-Session received the management of the Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency led by the Executive Director, Dr Pau Yinkoro.

The Executive Director underscored the need for the Council to engage with the rural communities on the need to accept and receive immunisation.

A minute silence was observed in honour of the late Asagba of Asaba, Obi Professor Chike Edozien.

The meeting was attended by the 2nd Vice Chairman of the Council and Obi of Ubulu-Unor, Agbogodi  Henry Kikachukwu 1, the immediate past Chairman of the Council and Obi of Owa Kingdom, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 and other traditional rulers from across Delta State.
