They will engage on the motion: “Who Is to Blame for Nigeria’s Poor Education System — Government or Teachers?”

At the close of the competition, the champion school will receive ₦250,000, the second-place school ₦150,000, while the third-place school will go home with ₦100,000.

The final event will be graced by the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. (Comr.) Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, among other distinguished guests.

Sixteen secondary schools participated in the earlier stages of the competition, from which the finalists emerged.

The Bashorun Askia Foundation Schools Debate Competition, sponsored solely by Bashorun Askia Ogieh, former Managing Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has grown into one of the most anticipated intellectual competitions in Delta State.

Askia has continued to sponsor the program as part of his long-standing commitment to advancing educational development among young people.
