Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, the aspiration of Hon. Chief Solomon Ahwinahwi has received a major boost following his endorsement by local government and ward executive committees in Agbarho, Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Local Government Areas.
The endorsement came during a consultation tour by the former two-term member of the House of Representatives and his entourage, beginning from his hometown, Agbarho, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
During the visit, Hon. Ahwinahwi formally informed party executives and stakeholders of his decision to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency.
The former federal lawmaker stated that, based on the existing political rotation arrangement within the constituency, it is the turn of Ughelli North to produce the next representative. He said his decision to contest was driven by his desire to continue serving the people.
Chief Ahwinahwi expressed confidence that the APC would record victory in the 2027 general elections, stressing that both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori have performed commendably and deserve re-election for a second term.
He appealed to the executives to support his aspiration and help him secure the party’s ticket at the primaries, assuring them of quality, inclusive and effective representation if elected.
In their separate remarks, the APC Local Government Chairmen in Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu pledged their support for his ambition.
The Udu APC Chairman, Evangelist David Siloko, noted that Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi was the only House of Representatives aspirant who had visited his executive members for consultation.
Earlier, the Chairman of Agbarho Ward 2, Chief Efe Olotu, speaking on behalf of the ward executives, also pledged their support and offered prayers for the success of Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi at the forthcoming APC primaries.
