Very Rev. Fr. John Konyeke has inaugurated a high-powered committee for the public presentation of the book, THE EXPERIENCE, authored by renowned journalist, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo, who is also Special Assistant (Media) to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

The Committee has the Executive Assistant to Governor Okowa on Communication, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe as Chairman; the Chairman, Peter Oyemike Foundation (POF), Chief Christopher Oyemike as alternate Chairman; the General Manager,  Delta Broadcasting Service,  Asaba, Mr FrankWhite Osabohen, a renowned banker, Mr Uzo Okoro, and Hon. Weyinmi Ufuoma Onovughakpo as members while Miss Grace Jesse of Maris Trust Council will serve as Secretary.

Inaugurating the Committee at Government House,  Asaba on Thursday, Rev. Fr. Konyeke said, ”The main objectives of this Committee are to present the book, The Experience, to the public, particularly given that it is a religious book, which is a practical guide to pilgrims; as friends of the author, raise funds for the successful presentation of the book; and also, raise funds for the author to enable him to publish more of his works.

”It is my expectation that the Committee will oversee the activities at the public presentation of the book, which portrays the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, as a lover of the Christian faith, a man who encourages people to seek the face of God and someone who has encouraged the growth of Christianity as a governor.

Fr.  Konyeke urged the Committee not to lose sight of the important role the Christian community all over the world will play during the presentation of the book and urged members of the Committee, which he described “as carefully selected friends of our brother, Egugbo”, to rely on God, believe that God will make the book presentation successful.

The Priest, who commended Egugbo’s efforts and enthusiasm in churning out educative and inspiring intellectual works that will stand the test of time, prayed for the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, members of the Committee, the author of the book, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo and all Nigerians.

Responding on behalf of members of the Committee, Dr Latimore said, “Fidelis is a young man with a lot of energy; I am willing to work with my colleagues to make sure that this book presentation is successful.

“From what I am seeing, by the grace of God, we will deliver because this is an assignment given to us by God. God’s hand is in what we are doing.

“To all the friends of Egugbo, Christian pilgrims and those who believe in Governor Okowa’s administration, let us make sure that this book presentation is successful.”

A friend of the author and the Asaba Bureau Chief of THISDAY Newspapers, Omon-Julius Onabu, noted that beyond the primary religious and spiritual focus of the book, The Experience, also has an exciting appeal to international relations and tourism.

Egugbo, who witnessed the event, thanked members of the Committee for agreeing to serve humanity and God through membership of the Committee.

He exuded confidence in the ability of members of the committee to ensure the successful presentation of The Experience.

Some of those who witnessed the event include Barr. Michel Oranyili KSJI, Comrade Charles Kosipre, among others.
