Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has celebrated three prominent public figures, his Chief Adviser, Chief (Dr.) Ighoyota Amori, Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda — as they mark their respective birthdays.

While Amori clocks 74, Mayuku marks his 60th birthday and Yilwatda celebrates his 58th anniversary, Governor Oborevwori commended the trio for their contributions to public service, governance, politics and community development.

In separate goodwill messages issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba on Saturday, the governor described the celebrants as accomplished individuals whose years of service had left significant imprints on Delta State and Nigeria.

Congratulating Chief Ighoyota Amori, Governor Oborevwori described the former Delta State political heavyweight as a seasoned politician and committed public servant whose decades of service had contributed significantly to the development of the state.

Oborevwori particularly acknowledged Amori’s leadership of the Delta Central 2023 (DC-23) political lobby group, noting that his experience, political sagacity and commitment to public service had continued to make him a valuable asset to Delta State.

The governor said Amori’s 74th birthday provided an opportunity to celebrate not only his longevity but also his enduring contributions to governance, politics and community development.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly felicitate with you, Chief Ighoyota Amori, on the occasion of your 74th birthday,” Oborevwori said.

He added that Amori’s “courage, consistency and commitment to the ideals of leadership and progress” remained remarkable, while praying God to grant him continued good health, wisdom and strength to serve humanity.

The governor also wished Amori many more years of peace, fulfilment and impactful service.

Mayuku at 60

For Hon. Daniel Mayuku, Governor Oborevwori described the former legislator and current Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund as a man of “prodigious intellect” whose career in law, legislation, public service and community development reflected capacity, versatility and commitment to Delta State.

He also highlighted Mayuku’s years in the Delta State House of Assembly, where he represented Warri South-West Constituency and served in several key capacities, including Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Finance and Appropriation, and Education.

The governor commended Mayuku’s contributions to legislative development, public administration and efforts to foster unity and build bridges across ethnic and tribal divides.

“Your career in law, legislation, public service and community development has reflected remarkable capacity, versatility and commitment to the advancement of Delta State,” Oborevwori said.

He prayed God to grant the 60-year-old continued good health, wisdom and strength to enable him contribute further to the peace, security and development of Delta State and Nigeria.

Yilwatda at 58

Governor Oborevwori also felicitated with Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the APC, on his 58th birthday, describing him as a distinguished scholar, conscientious public servant and “unswerving democrat” whose life had been defined by service to the nation.
