Prophet Raphael Charles Ogodo (Jr), the sole candidate for election into the Unenurhie Community Development Union, UCDU, in Evwreni Kingdom of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, has disowned the purported Certificate of Return issued to him electronically.

Recall that the outcome of the community election held on Friday, March 7, 2025, was rejected by key actors in the election including one of the contestants for the position President-General, Mr Okpavwaire Kingdom for gross violation of the community constitution which provides for voting by delegates and not through Option A4.

Ogodo (Jr) in a chat with NewsNet Nigeria disowned the Certificate of Return for the position of Assistant Secretary issued and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development because the election supervised by a delegation of the ministry led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Oghenekevwe Agas, in the Community Hall, was opened for all indigenes and non-indigenes of underage, including mercenaries present to rush in and vote instead of only the approved delegates for the election.

He called for rescheduling of the election because it fell very short of the expectations of the people and violated a provision of the community’s constitution.

One of the contestants for the position of President-General, Mr Okpavwaire Kingdom, had accused the Ministry’s delegation and local umpire of jettisoning the voting by the over sixty delegates approved for the election.

He also fingered the President General of Evwreni Clan Improvement Union (ECIU), Chief Kenneth Ukpebitere, for being part of the ground plan to set aside the delegate’s list for the election.

He alleged that they made this plot and mobilised people outside Unenurhie as observers and mercenaries and eventually opened the community hall gate for them to rush in and vote for their candidates.

Okpavwaire Kingdom, Ilayah Williams, and Clever Adjene were the three contestants for the position of President-General.

Unenurhie community in Evwreni Kingdom is made of two quarters, Enurhie and Uruwherun.
