A prominent Niger Delta environmentalist and development advocate, Chief Sheriff Mulade, has formally declared his intention to contest the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election, promising inclusive representation and grassroots-focused development.
Mulade, who holds the traditional title of Ibe-Serimowei of the oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, unveiled his political ambition on Tuesday, saying his decision was driven by a desire to offer purposeful leadership capable of addressing the constituency’s developmental and socioeconomic challenges.
The United Nations Peace Ambassador appealed to voters across Warri Federal Constituency to support what he described as a people-centred movement aimed at promoting unity, empowerment and sustainable growth.
According to him, the constituency deserves a representative who understands the realities of the people and is prepared to champion policies that will improve livelihoods and expand opportunities for all communities.
“I am appealing to the electorates in Warri Federal Constituency to make a wise choice in the 2027 general elections by voting for me. I am your own, and I want to pledge purposeful, unity-driven, people-oriented and all-inclusive representation,” Mulade stated.
He explained that his legislative agenda would focus heavily on youth empowerment, job creation, skills acquisition programmes and economic support initiatives targeted at vulnerable groups, including women and the elderly.
Mulade also assured constituents that his style of representation would be accessible, responsive and transparent, noting that effective leadership must remain connected to the people at all times.
Speaking further, the environmental rights activist urged politicians and their supporters to avoid campaigns built on bitterness, personal attacks and divisive rhetoric as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of 2027.
“Campaigns should not be about calumny and hate. They should be driven by purpose and decorum. After elections, the people remain one indivisible entity,” he added.
His declaration is expected to further shape political conversations within Warri Federal Constituency as consultations and alignments ahead of the 2027 elections continue to intensify across Delta State.
