A peace and environment rights advocate, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has again sent another public-private Bill to the Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for consideration and establishment of Delta State Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Agency.

Mulade, who presented the public-private Bill to the state government at Asaba, the state capital on March 24, 2021, said if established the agency would assist to promote and sustain peaceful coexistence among Deltans and other residents of the state.

He appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to see the importance of the Agency to the promotion and sustenance of peaceful coexistence and unity among the various ethnic groups and other residents of the State, towards attracting the desired development.

He also forwarded a copy of the Bill to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborovwori and appealed to the House to give a speedy passage of the Bill.

Mulade acknowledged the efforts of the Okowa administration towards peacebuilding and conflict resolutions, which are aimed at attracting development to the state.

He however noted that there are still some gaps in the efforts at sustaining peaceful coexistence and unity among communities, ethnic groups and other residents of the state.

He therefore strongly appealedl to the governor to kindly consider as the important proposal for an Agency that will give a sense of belonging to Deltans to enable them to benefit from the peace initiatives of his administration.

According to him, it will also write Dr Okowa’s name in gold as a peace advocate.
