Senator James Manager, who represents Delta State South Senatorial District has expressed satisfaction with the performance of Dr. Barry Pere Gbe as Commissioner for Economic Planning in the administration of the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
Manager, a fifth-time member of the Nigerian Senate stated this on Saturday when he paid a visit to the former Economic Planning Commissioner at his residence in Asaba, the capital city of Delta State.
“You did well in your assignment to Delta State. The evidence is there that you brought your competence, capacity and experience to bear in the discharge of your duties.
“You didn’t disappoint me, you didn’t disappoint your constituents. We are indeed proud of your performance in the government of Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa. And we are grateful to the former governor of the state for finding you worthy to serve in his administration.
“Not everybody who are entrusted with such sensitive position you occupied are able to live up to expectations, but in your case you proved and demonstrated that you know your onions. Yes, I recommended you to serve on the Delta State Executive Council, but on your side you did excellently well in the portfolio that was assigned to you.
“I am particularly glad that in occupying the position you were able to carry many of your constituents along, especially in empowering the youths and women,” said Manager.
The immediate past Economic Planning Commissioner had earlier expressed his deep appreciation to Senator Manager for giving him the opportunity to serve in the Okowa-administration in the realisation of the SMART Agenda.
Gbe said, “My distinguished Senator, sir, on behalf of my family, we say a big thank you for impacting my life positively. You gave me the opportunity to shine and I remain eternally grateful to God for using you to transform my life.
“I learnt so much from your political tutelage and gained a lot of wise counselling which contributed greatly to my success stories today. God richly bless you my senator.”
