The Rotary Club of Evwreni has launched a ₦12 million fundraising campaign for humanitarian service projects as Rotarian Fidelis Adjogbe, PhD, was officially installed as the club’s fourth president for the 2026/2027 Rotary year.

The installation ceremony, held on Friday at Eclat Royal Hotels, Engr. Dr. Samuel Adjogbe Street, Asaba Expressway, Ovwodokpokpor-Ogor in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, saw the formal installation of Rotarian Fidelis Adjogbe as the club’s fourth president by the immediate past President of the Rotary Club of Evwreni (2025–2026), Rotarian Ufuoma Steven Atare.

The event also featured the launch of a ₦12 million fundraising campaign for service projects, the induction of the club’s 2026/2027 Board of Directors, the induction of new members and the presentation of awards to distinguished individuals.

Speaking during his acceptance address, Adjogbe pledged to build on the achievements of the outgoing administration while steering the club towards greater humanitarian impact through service, membership growth and strategic partnerships.

The new president commended the immediate past president, Rotarian Ufuoma Atare, the Board of Directors and members of the club for laying what he described as a solid foundation that has earned the Rotary Club of Evwreni an enviable reputation.

“I want to thank the outgoing President, Rtn. Ufuoma Atare, the entire Board of Directors and all members of the Rotary Club of Evwreni for the positive foundation they have laid. Your service has earned our club an excellent mark,” he said.

Adjogbe said the club would align its programmes with Rotary International’s 2026/2027 theme, “Create Lasting Impact,” by concentrating on three key priorities—service, membership and measurable impact.

“Our vision is simple: service above self and action above words. We won’t just talk about changing lives; we will do it measurably within us and in our communities,” he stated.

The new president used the occasion to throw open the doors for collaboration, inviting individuals, corporate organisations, philanthropists and development partners to support the club’s humanitarian initiatives.

“We are open for partnership and sponsorship. When you do not have the time to decide how best to transform our world into a better society, the Rotary Club of Evwreni will be willing to do that on your behalf through your donations and support,” Adjogbe said.

He also urged members and supporters to contribute actively to the club’s mission by offering innovative ideas, professional networks and volunteer time.

“I appeal to every one of you to bring one idea, one connection and one hour of service this year. Together, we will create hope in the world, starting right within us and in our communities,” he added.

Adjogbe expressed appreciation to the Wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, for her encouragement of humanitarian initiatives across the state, and acknowledged the unwavering support of seasoned engineer and former Executive Director of Projects at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Adjogbe, whose commitment to Rotary ideals and community service has continued to strengthen the Rotary Club of Evwreni’s outreach and humanitarian interventions.

He assured members and stakeholders that his administration would pursue impactful projects capable of improving lives while sustaining the club’s tradition of selfless service.

The immediate past President of the Rotary Club of Evwreni, Rotarian Ufuoma Steven Atare, in his valedictory message, called on Rotarians to remain united and deepen their commitment to humanitarian service as the club begins a new leadership chapter under its newly installed President, Rotarian Fidelis Adjogbe.

His remarks complemented the new president’s pledge to prioritise service, membership growth and lasting community impact, while urging members to remain steadfast in advancing Rotary’s humanitarian mission.

The immediate past president expressed appreciation to members of the club for their dedication, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to serving humanity, saying their collective efforts had continued to transform lives within Evwreni and neighbouring communities.

“As we continue our journey of Service Above Self, I sincerely appreciate every member for your dedication, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to humanity. Your selfless service continues to strengthen our club and positively impact lives within Evwreni and beyond,” Atare said.

He described the new Rotary year as a season requiring greater unity, compassion and commitment to community development, urging members to continue working together in fellowship to expand the club’s humanitarian footprint.

“This is a season that calls for unity, compassion and greater commitment to community development. When we remain united in purpose, there is no limit to the positive change we can create in our communities,” he stated.

Atare reminded members that Rotary extends beyond meetings and projects, describing the organisation as a family founded on friendship, integrity and a shared determination to improve society.

He also charged the newly installed President, Rotarian Fidelis Adjogbe, and the 2026/2027 Board of Directors to devote even greater passion and commitment to Rotary service to deliver impactful projects and sustain the club’s growth.

“As I pass over the baton, I encourage the incoming President and his Board of Directors to devote even more time, passion and commitment to Rotary service. Greater dedication to Rotary’s ideals and vision will enable our club to create a lasting impact, execute meaningful projects, strengthen membership engagement and leave enduring footprints in the lives of the people we serve,” he said.

The former president further encouraged members to recruit more people with a passion for community service, stressing that Rotary’s strength lies in the willingness of members to serve humanity selflessly.

He thanked members for their support, cooperation and friendship throughout his tenure and expressed confidence that the club would continue to grow stronger under its new leadership.

The event attracted Rotary District 9141 Governor, Rotarian Anthony Olikagu, past district governors, Assistant Governor Rotarian Emmanuel Etsano, visiting Rotarians, community leaders, sponsors, partners, family members and friends.

As the ceremony drew to a close, optimism filled the atmosphere as members, guests and supporters rallied behind the club’s renewed vision for service.

With a new leadership team in place, a ₦12 million service projects fund launched, new members inducted and fresh partnerships on the horizon, the Rotary Club of Evwreni signalled its readiness to deepen its humanitarian footprint across communities in Delta State, reinforcing Rotary’s enduring commitment to Service Above Self and creating lasting impact where it matters most.
