The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has issued a firm directive restricting venues for Local Government stakeholders’ meetings convened to mobilise party members for the ongoing E-Registration exercise.
In a statement issued on Thursday, January 15, 2026, by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., the APC clarified earlier instructions mandating Local Government Party Chairmen and Local Government Council Chairmen to convene stakeholders’ meetings across the state.
According to the statement, the State Chairman of the party, Elder Omeni Sobotie, has approved only three categories of venues for such meetings: the Local Government Party Secretariat, the Local Government Council Hall where available, or a publicly accessible event centre located within the local government headquarters.
The party leadership stressed that stakeholders’ meetings must not, under any circumstances, be held at the private residence of any individual, irrespective of status or position within the party or government.
The APC explained that the directive is intended to promote transparency, inclusiveness, neutrality and effective coordination of the E-Registration mobilisation process across all local government areas of the state.
Local Government Party Chairmen were therefore urged to comply strictly with the directive, as the party reaffirmed its commitment to the successful conduct of the E-Registration exercise.
The Delta State APC called on all party officials and stakeholders to adhere fully to party guidelines, describing compliance as essential to strengthening the party’s structures at all levels.
