Daily Report Nigeria has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art broadcast studio, marking a major milestone in its transition from a digital newspaper into a full-fledged multimedia and broadcast organisation.

Speaking at the grand opening ceremony held in Effurun on Thursday, the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of Daily Report Nigeria, Tare Magbei, described the new facility as the beginning of “a new chapter” in the organisation’s six-year journey of delivering credible journalism to Nigerians.

According to him, the studio represents more than a physical expansion. It reflects the organisation’s commitment to embracing emerging technologies while preserving the core principles of responsible journalism.

“We are not merely unveiling a studio. We are opening a new chapter in a journey that began six years ago with a simple vision: to create a media platform that would inform, educate, entertain, and connect Nigerians through credible journalism and responsible storytelling,” Magbei said.

He noted that since its establishment in 2020, Daily Report Nigeria has grown from a modest online newspaper into one of the country’s fastest-growing digital media platforms, now serving a community of more than 370,000 followers and subscribers across Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube and Telegram, with monthly content views ranging between six and ten million.

Magbei attributed the organisation’s growth to public confidence in its editorial standards, stressing that every reader, viewer and follower represents a vote of trust in the platform’s commitment to factual, timely and impactful journalism.

He explained that the media landscape is changing rapidly, driven by artificial intelligence, digital broadcasting, mobile technology and changing audience behaviour, adding that news organisations must innovate without compromising accuracy and credibility.

“The future belongs to media organisations that can combine technology with trust, innovation with responsibility, and speed with accuracy,” he stated.

The Daily Report Nigeria CEO said the newly commissioned studio would serve as the hub for live interviews, current affairs programmes, documentaries, podcasts, policy discussions, election coverage, sports programmes, investigative reports and community-focused broadcasts.

He added that flagship productions including The Conversation, Daybreak Express, Nigerians Talk, Foreground and Sportspedia would now be produced with improved quality and wider audience reach.

Looking ahead, Magbei unveiled an ambitious growth strategy aimed at increasing the organisation’s monthly digital audience to more than 10 million by the third quarter of the year and over 20 million before the end of the fourth quarter.

Beyond audience growth, he said Daily Report Nigeria intends to strengthen its investment in video journalism, data journalism, visual storytelling, podcasting, digital engagement technologies and nationwide reporting networks, with the long-term objective of becoming one of Africa’s most trusted multimedia news organisations.

Magbei also called for stronger collaboration between the media and government institutions, policymakers, corporate organisations, development partners, civil society groups, traditional institutions, educational establishments and innovators to promote informed public discourse and national development.

“Together, we can combat misinformation and disinformation. Together, we can promote informed public discourse. Together, we can strengthen democratic participation and social development,” he said.

He expressed appreciation to the organisation’s staff, contributors, correspondents, partners, advertisers, supporters and audience for their unwavering support over the past six years, describing the launch of the broadcast studio as the foundation for an even more ambitious future.

“Six years ago, Daily Report Nigeria began as a digital newspaper driven by a vision. Today, we open a broadcast studio driven by a mission. Tomorrow, with your support, partnership and shared commitment to excellence, we will build a multimedia institution that informs, inspires and impacts millions of lives across Nigeria and beyond,” Magbei concluded.
