Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has commended the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), CFR, Orhue I, for the successful groundbreaking ceremony of the Orodje Sub-Palace in Sapele.
The ceremony, held on January 24, 2026, marked a significant milestone in the preservation and strengthening of Okpe history, culture, and traditional governance structures.
Dafinone described the project as a bold and forward-looking initiative that reinforces the enduring relevance of the Orodje stool as a unifying and authoritative institution among the Okpe people.
According to the senator, the decision to situate the Sub-Palace in Sapele reflects a deep appreciation of history and the evolving needs of traditional administration.
He noted that the Sub-Palace would serve not only as an architectural landmark but also as a vital institutional presence that affirms identity, legitimacy, and continuity within the Okpe Kingdom.
