Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has felicitated Muslims across Delta State and Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, urging them to uphold the virtues of compassion, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and service to humanity.
Dafinone, in a goodwill message marking the celebration, described Eid-ul-Mawlid as an opportunity for Muslims and Nigerians generally to reflect on the life, teachings and enduring legacy of Prophet Muhammad.
He said the virtues associated with the Prophet were not only religious values but also essential principles for building a peaceful, just and prosperous society.
“Eid-ul-Mawlid provides a profound opportunity for reflection on the life, teachings and enduring legacy of the Prophet, particularly his virtues of compassion, humility, tolerance, sacrifice, peaceful coexistence and service to humanity,” Dafinone said.
The lawmaker urged Muslim faithful to remain committed to promoting peace, unity, mutual understanding and respect for others, particularly at a time when the country requires greater cohesion.
“I therefore urge our Muslim faithful to continue to uphold these virtues and to remain steadfast in promoting peace, unity, mutual understanding and respect for one another,” he said.
Dafinone called on Nigerians to look beyond religious, ethnic and political differences and focus on their shared identity and destiny as citizens of the same country.
“Beyond our religious, ethnic and political affiliations, we are first and foremost Nigerians with a shared destiny,” he said.
He encouraged citizens to embrace love, tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence as part of efforts to build a stronger and more prosperous Delta State and Nigeria.
The Delta Central Senator also prayed for peace, renewed hope, stability and prosperity across the country, asking Almighty Allah to grant wisdom to the nation’s leaders and protect communities.
“May Almighty Allah continue to guide our leaders with wisdom, protect our communities, strengthen our nation and grant Delta State and Nigeria greater stability, progress and prosperity,” he said.
Dafinone wished Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
