Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has said that the leadership and commitment of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the state’s growth have not gone unnoticed.
Reacting with enthusiasm and pride to the Governor’s induction into the Hall of Fame of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, and the conferment of the title, ‘Omorotomo of Urhobo land,’ by the traditional rulers of Urhobo nation, the Speaker stated that the honours were well deserved.
Guwor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, noted that the recognition is a testament to the Governor’s tireless efforts to promote the development of the state and the welfare of the people.
The Speaker stressed that Rt Hon Oborevwori has earned the respect and admiration of all ethnic nationalities in Delta State, noting that the induction into the Hall of Fame of the Urhobo Progress Union and conferment of the title, ‘Omorotomo of Urhobo land’ by the traditional rulers of Urhobo nation, is a tip in the eye’s berg.
He said, “I am delighted to be a part of those that witness the induction of His Excellency, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, into the Hall of Fame of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, and the conferment of the title, ‘Omorotomo of Urhobo land,’ by the Ikoko ri’ Ivie of Urhobo.
“This title reflects the governor’s commitment to the cultural heritage and traditions of the Urhobo people.
“As the Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, I am proud to associate with a governor who has earned the respect and admiration of his people.
“I congratulate His Excellency on these prestigious honours and look forward to continuing our partnership in serving the good people of Delta State”, Guwor added.
