Progressives Congress (APC), the U3 Political Front (UPF), has called on former lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi, to contest for the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

The call was contained in a statement issued at the end of the group’s meeting held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Ekete Inland in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

The statement, signed by the Chairman/Coordinator of the group, Udurukevwe Omonigho, said the meeting focused on assessing emerging political dynamics and leadership needs ahead of the next general election.

According to the group, after extensive deliberations involving members drawn from various communities across the three local government areas, Ahwinahwi was unanimously identified as the most suitable candidate to represent the constituency.

The UPF described Ahwinahwi as a “selfless, tested, and impactful leader,” noting that his previous tenure as a two-term member of the House of Representatives was marked by significant contributions to human capital development and empowerment initiatives for youths and women.

The group further highlighted his experience, political reach, and ability to attract federal presence as key qualities that distinguish him among potential contenders.

“His return will consolidate effective representation and enhance the constituency’s voice at the national level,” the statement read.

The group added that Ahwinahwi’s grassroots appeal, deep connections across Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu, as well as his reputation as a unifier, make him well-positioned to deliver quality representation if he accepts the call.

It stressed that as the 2027 elections draw closer, the constituency requires experienced leadership with a proven track record.

The U3 Political Front therefore urged Ahwinahwi to heed the call to service and contest under the platform of the APC.
