A frontline aspirant for the chairmanship position of Ughelli North Local Government Council in Delta State, Rotarian Fidelis Adjogbe has heaped praise on the five-member panel of the Supreme Court, which on Friday, January 19, 2023, affirmed the victory of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in the Saturday, March 18, 2023, governorship in the state.

Adjogbe in a statement restated that he had no iota of doubt that Governor Oborevwori would triumph over the court cases challenging his emergence as the governorship flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and winner in the March 2023 general elections.

The Evwreni Kingdom-born politician in Ughelli North Local Government Area opined there was no way except in an outright judiciary robbery or coup that a governorship candidate of one of the opposition political parties in the contest could have been declared as the authentic winner of the gubernatorial poll.

In the statement, Adjogbe said, “Today’s decision of the Apex court affirming the victory of His Excellency RT HON FRANCIS SHERRIF OBOREVWORI as the validly elected governor of Delta State in the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial polls in Delta State has put paid to the legal tussle challenging the proprietary of his declaration by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Ken Pela of the Labour Party (LP).

The Ughelli North Council chairmanship aspirant urged the opposition political parties in the state to embrace the verdict of the apex in good faith stressing that “the time for politics is over, let people-centred governance and genuine concerns for the growth and development of our state prevail over individual interest.

“Once again, congratulations and God’s guidance as you (Oborevwori) administer the sacred mandate of Deltans.”
