Chief Faith Majemite

A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Chief Faith Majemite has resigned from the party.

Majemite, a foundation member of the party has held several positions including Executive Assistant and Special Adviser to governors of Delta State and a two-time chairman of Ethiope East Local Government.

She announced her resignation from the PDP in a letter dated Wednesday, December 28, 2022, which was addressed to the chairman of the party in Ethiope East Local Government Area Chapter.

In the resignation letter, she wrote, “This is to inform you effective today, 28th December 2022, I hereby cease to be a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) due to the heinous leadership impunity, hostile plots against my thronging supporters, and I no longer find the values, ethics, and ideology of the party’s founding Fathers.

“Therefore in order to better serve my thronging supporters in my ward, Local Government, State, Country, and around the world, I have decided to end my affiliation with a party that has negative intentions for us.”

Beyond the information in her letter of resignation from the PDP, a dependable source told NewsNet Nigeria that the exit of Chief Faith Majemite from the PDP is not unconnected to the cheap blackmail by some persons including someone in her Kokori ward that she does not have ‘electoral value’ in a deliberate attempt to dwarf and suppressed her political influence and relevance.

According to the source who craved anonymity, the ploy to render her politically irrelevant apparently because of her very close ties with ex-governor Ibori degenerated to the point that she was even excluded from the Campaign Management Committee of the PDP in her local government area.

In a phone chat with NewsNet Nigeria, Chief Faith Majemite said she decided to leave the PDP which she has laboured for and invested so much in since 1998 but has in return paid her back with so much disrespect.

She said her next move politically will soon be made public.
