Old and new members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Warri Urbobo in Delta State have resolved to close ranks to ensure the party’s fortune in the area.

The resolution was taken on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at a meeting hosted by the leader of Warri Urhobo APC, Olorogun Bernard Okumagba.

Among resolutions reached during the expanded and well-attended meeting by the Warri Urhobo APC leaders and members from the Urhobo Wards in Warri South Local Government Area was a vote of confidence passed in President Bola Tinubu and the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

A confidence vote was also passed in Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, who represents Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, and Hon Benson Obire, who represents Warri South Constituency 2 in the Delta State House of Assembly.

They noted that President Tinubu has done well and is on the right track, repositioning Nigeria for greater progress, and Governor Oborevwori has recorded giant strides in the infrastructural development of the state.

For Senator Joel-Onowakpo and Hon Obire, the gathering commended them for their effective representation in the Senate and the State House of Assembly, respectively.

The meeting reminded the leadership at the State, Senatorial and Federal levels that infrastructure development and other dividends of democracy from government should be evenly and equitably spread amongst the tribes and constituent parts of Delta South Senatorial District, which comprises four ethnic groups of Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri and Urhobo.

The meeting welcomed new members from PDP who recently joined the party and resolved that both old and new members should work together harmoniously in the various Wards.
