UPU Youth Wing wades into Ogbowan, Afiesere land dispute, Agbobore sues for peaceful co-existence

The Welfare Director, Youth Wing of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Mr. Ese Agbobore on Saturday, March 23, 2024, took proactive step towards resolving the lingering land dispute between Ogbowan and Afiesere communities in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The crucial meeting convened at the Ogbowan Town Hall saw the participation of the President General of Ogbowan community, Deacon Friday Onoseri alongside his executive members, and the community Youth chairman

NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the meeting was prompted by the urgent need to maintain peace within the great Ughelli Kingdom amidst the escalating tensions arising from the land dispute.

Mr. Agbobore stressed the paramount importance of peace in fostering development and progress within the region.

The Ughelli Kingdom representative in the UPU Youth Wing emphasized that sustainable growth can only thrive in an environment of peace and harmony.

While highlighting the urgency of the situation, Mr. Agbobore called on the leaders and stakeholders to swiftly address the issue before it escalates further.

Reiterating the UPU Youth Wing’s commitment to building a stronger Urhobo land, Mr Agbobore stated that the youth wing is ready and committed to working and collaborating with all youth representatives across Ughelli communities to foster a peaceful and inclusive environment.

The meeting came to a close with a resounding call for unity and cooperation among all stakeholders, with a shared vision of building a harmonious and welcoming Ughelli Kingdom.

This proactive stance taken by the UPU Youth Wing serves as a beacon of hope for the peaceful resolution of the longstanding land dispute in ensuring the continued prosperity of the Ughelli community.
