Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State has said that God will not allow the mandate Deltans have given to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to be stolen through the back door.

Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, had Friday afternoon affirmed the victory of Governor Oborevwori in the March 18, 2023, governorship election.

In a congratulatory message a few hours after the judgement, Adjogbe, an Evwreni-born politician hailed the tribunal panel headed by Hon Justice C. H. Ahuchaogu for the well-articulated and unambiguous ruling.

“Going by the judgement it is evident that the petitioners approached the tribunal with the intent that the tribunal would manufacture judgement for them without substantial evidence.

“I commend the justices for being firm and resolute in doing what is right despite the pressures that would have made them to do otherwise.

“I warmly congratulate our Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for his victory at the tribunal which further reaffirms the overwhelming support and votes he garnered in the March 10 polls,” said Adjogbe.

Continuing, Adjogbe described the case filed by the petitioners at the Election Petition Tribunal against the governorship victory of Governor Oborevwori as mere distractions to his commitment to delivering his administration’s MORE agenda to Deltans.

The former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Political to the immediate past Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa noted that Governor Oborevwori in his 100 days in office has demonstrated enormous passion to consolidate and accelerate the development of the state with the completion and commissioning of several projects.

He said, “Recall also that Governor Oborevwori recently presided over a meeting of the State Executive Council which approved the award of a contract worth N78 billion to construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, for the construction of three flyover bridges, cloverleaf and road expansion.

“With this unprecedented award of this project by the administration of Oborevwori and many more yet to come, the unnecessary post-election cases are needless to enable him to remain focused.

“It is my earnest prayer that Governor Oborevwori will remain unperturbed by the cases and continue to diligently prosecute his MORE agenda which he pledged to Deltans.”
