Robbers numbering seven on Thursday afternoon attacked the bullion van carrying cash for a commercial bank in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
THE PRECISION NG reports that the robbery incident which happened at Idi-Ape, Iwo Road Area, Ibadan, Oyo State saw 3 policemen and a commercial motorcyclist losing their lives.
Eye witness account disclosed that the incident happened around 1:30pm during which the bullion van coming from Iwo road was attacked by the robbers.
He said the commercial motorcyclist was killed by the robbers while they were planning to attack the bullion van.
The eyewitness added that the robbers came with a Sienna bus with the intention to overtake the bullion van and started firing at the policemen.
The source also disclosed that 5 policemen were injured while a kid was hit by a stray bullet.
The robbers carted away an undisclosed amount of money, while both dead and injured officers have been taken to University Teaching Hospital, UCH Ibadan.
