The Delta State Police Command says it has in its custody seven suspected armed robbers who were separately arrested in Sapele and Oghara, two major towns in the state.
A statement by the spokesperson for the Command, DSP Bright Edafe, said the seven suspects were arrested on Friday, August 18, 2021, by crack teams personally led the Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, for Sapele and Oghara.
According to the statement, at MTN road by pipeline Sapele, “James Wisdom a.k.a young diamond ‘m’ age 25yrs, Peter Ayodele ’m’ age 22yrs, Ikolo Micheal ‘m’ age 18yrs and Francis Success ‘f’ age 26yrs were arrested and the following items were recovered from them; three (3) cut to size single barrels gun with eighteen (18) cartridges, a Lexus car with Reg. No. YAB 750 BP”.
At old Benin Road, Oghara, the statement said, “Choice Macaulay ‘m’ age 26yrs, Endurance Ejokirehie ‘m’ age 27yrs and Junior Macaulay ‘m’ age 21yrs” were arrested at an Indian hemp joint with three phones, a dummy gun and iron rod used for the robbery recovered from them.
