Senator Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor Senator Dr. Ighoyota Amori, at his Mosogar country home, where both leaders emphasised the need for collaboration and cohesion among Urhobo political class.

The meeting which was attended by key figures including the Chairman of Ethiope West local government area, Pastor Chris Onogba, APC Chieftain, Olorogun Adelabu Bodjor, Engr Abraham Bobor, amongst other, brought together members of the Amori political family, Senator Dafinone’s team, and other stakeholders, reinforcing calls for unity as a foundation for sustainable development in Delta State and the Urhobo nation.

Recall that the two APC leaders were previously political opponents in the lead-up to the 2023 election, with Dafinone contesting against Amori, who was then with the PDP.

Speaking after the meeting, Dafinone described Amori as a “respected senior brother” and a major influence in the political evolution of Delta State, noting that his contributions are better understood by those within the system.

He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged Amori’s long-standing sacrifices in shaping the state’s political landscape.

In his remarks, Amori commended Dafinone’s performance in office, affirming that he has not been disappointed in his representation of Delta Central. He stressed that political engagement should not be driven by bitterness, highlighting their continued friendship despite belonging to different political parties during the 2023 general elections.

Amori urged Urhobo sons and daughters to embrace unity beyond political divides, describing such divisions as often rooted in personal interests rather than collective progress. He called for a shared commitment to the development of the Urhobo nation and Delta State at large.

The visit underscored a broader message that mutual respect, cooperation, and shared vision remain critical to political stability and development, regardless of party affiliations.
