The Benue State Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom blamed governments’ inability to provide education for its citizens as among the causes of the insecurity bedevilling Nigeria.

Dr Ortom stated this on Tuesday while inaugurating the Army Day Secondary school Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area.

He stated that lack of adequate education had contributed largely to the growing insecurity in the nation and urged leaders to do more in broadening access to education in the country.

The Benue State Governor noted that God has not abandoned the country and called on the Nation leaders to close ranks and provide equity, fairness and justice to heal the nation.

He commended Deltans for supporting Governor Okowa, whom he described as a very hardworking, diligent, committed and determined to add value to not just Delta state but the country at large.

Speaking, Governor Okowa said his administration was doing a lot even though a lot still needs to be done.

He commended Governor Ortom for coming to inaugurate the projects despite the challenges confronting the country, especially in North Central.

Dr Okowa said Uvwie Local Government was among the first beneficiaries of the nine new Technical Colleges being built in the state, adding that his administration was committed to completing the storm drainage projects and the Effurun Sapele Road dualisation project in the Uvwie and Warri area.

The state Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chief Patrick Ukah said the completion of the school will facilitate teaching and learning in the area.

Chief  Ukah disclosed that the school which was founded in 1986 was plagued with poor facilities before the State Government embarked on the construction of the ultra-modern school in 2010.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the  Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Mr Ramson Onoyake commended  Governor  Okowa for his giant strides in changing the face of Delta.

He lauded the Governor for his strong determination to give Delta a new facelift especially in the area of providing a conducive learning environment for students and construction of several roads across the state.

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, Emmanuel Sideso, Abe  the first, commended Governor Okowa for his outstanding accomplishments in his kingdom, noting that  the Army day Secondary school was the second project to be inaugurated in less than six weeks in the kingdom
