Omonemu congratulates new Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom in Delta, says his reign shall be peaceful, development-oriented

A one-time member of the Delta State Executive Council, Edewor Omonemu, a lawyer has congratulated the newly crowned Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, HRM Macaulay Ovbagbedia, Uhurhie Osadjere II.

The crowning of the new Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, a former Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) was performed on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Adjefia Hall, Agbon-Olomu, the traditional headquarters of the people of Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

His ascension to the throne followed the passage of the HRM Richard Layeguen Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro I in February this year at the age of 106.

Omonemu is an illustrious son of the kingdom who served as Commissioner for Commerce under the administration of former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori in his heartfelt congratulatory message to the new Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom prayed his reign would usher in peace and more sustainable developments to the kingdom.

The former commissioner also congratulated Chief Albert Akpomudje SAN, who is now the new Otota of Olomu Kingdom (traditional prime minister).

“It is very gratifying to us the people of Olomu Kingdom to have our new king and Otota emerge through a seamless process. It portends greater things to come to the kingdom.

“It is my firm belief that both of them who are highly respected personalities working with other chiefs of Olomu Kingdom shall continue to witness peace and development.

“I pray God to grant them wisdom, good health and longevity in piloting the affairs of the kingdom,” Omonemu prayed.

Until his crowning on Saturday, Ovbagbedia, a nonagenarian was the Otota (traditional prime minister) of Olomu Kingdom.

He becomes the 13th Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom.
