Women who are members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday staged a solidarity match in Orerokpe headquarters Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State for the party’s governorship candidate in the state, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and other APC candidates in the 2023 general elections.

The women during solidarity match preceded the inauguration of the executives of the fourteen units that make up Orerokpe Ward One claimed that Senator Omo-Agege is an Okpe man.

From the APC secretariat at Orerokpe, hundreds of APC women and supporters of the party led by the convener and APC woman leader in Okpe, Mrs Faith Ederhi, matched through major roads in Orerokpe singing, dancing and telling the residents of the area why they should cast their votes for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for the Delta State governorship position and all candidates of the party in the 2023 polls.

Among the reasons the women gave for supporting the governorship bid of Senator Omo-Agege were his provision of street lights, transformers, construction of ICT, building of classrooms and provision of chairs in Okpe Local Government Area.

According to the women, Senator Omo-Agege has demonstrated enormous capacity as Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate and would do more for the people of Delta State when he becomes governor in 2023.

At the venue for the inauguration of the fourteen units executives of APC Okpe Ward One, the Ward Chairman, Comrade Gabriel Kakabiya, in his welcome address adduced the unprecedented gathering of APC members to the new blood and fresh stream of ideas that have been injected into the party which according him would galvanise the party’s structure from the grassroots for victory of the party in 2023.

Former Minority Leader of the Delta State House, Hon. Julius Okpoko, Coordinator of APC Okpe Campaign Council, Chief Cosmos Ighoranye, Chairman of the party in Okpe, Hon Eric Afe and others said unlike in past general elections votes would count and the majority votes which Ward One has will go in favour of the APC at the polls.
